San Diego Zoo Global is seeking a Plant Propagator. The Plant Propagator will work under direction and perform a wide variety of duties in the care and propagation of plants in the Zoo horticultural nursery and perform related work as required (e.g. seed bank, pesticide applications, area maintenance, potted plant culture, inventory, etc.) Must have horticultural training and/or experience in propagation techniques and a basic knowledge of methods, practices, and techniques for the propagation of a wide variety of plants. Good writing, record keeping, and organizational skills are essential to this position. Candidate must have the knowledge and ability to maintain proper plant health for nursery and collections. Experience with the application of pesticides is desirable. A California applicators license (QAL) or certificate (QAC) is preferred. This position will require basic computer skills (Microsoft Word and Excel). Applicants must have a good driving record and a valid California driver license.
Scheduled workdays are Monday-Friday, approximately 40 hours per week.
