The Wilma L. Pickard Horticultural Fellowship with the American Horticultural Society is open to any college graduate with a degree in horticulture or related field who is pursuing a leadership role in the field of horticulture. In addition to the day-to-day care of River Farm, the Fellow will assist with the coordination of horticultural programs.
The Pickard Fellow will work a 37.5-hour week, Monday through Friday with regular Saturday rotations as needed, from January/February to June/July. The Fellowship duration is approximately 20 weeks. Individual schedules are discussed prior to the beginning of the fellowship. Housing is not provided, but assistance in finding convenient, affordable housing in the area is available. The Fellow is paid a taxable stipend of $12 per hour. An additional travel/study stipend is also available. Application deadline is December 15, 2015.
